TEAM SLIDE WIN 2007 BASKETBALL INTRAMURALS!!

The 2007 Basketball Intramurals came to an end on Thursday, May 3, with Team Slide defeating Team Ramrod, 49-37.
Eric Quintero was named Intramurals MVP, earning him the Norman Kleinman Award. Quintero averaged 13 ppg in the playoffs, controlling the tempo of all 3 games, and hitting clutch free throws when it mattered most
For Ramrod, they were led by Chris Chin, who notched a game high 14 points for the runner-up.
This intramural season proved to be one of the most competitve in recent years. With the playoffs expanded to 6 teams, there were numerous subplots played out during the season:
* Both #1 seeds, Philly's Blunts and Dima's Demons, had undefeated records in their respective divisions. However, both were upset in the semifinals.
* Women's Basketball coach Machli Joseph did his best Kobe Bryant impression, averaging 26.5 points a game on an ARCS squad that clinched a playoff birth on the last day of the regular season. They fell to the eventual champions in the opening round, 46-42.
* Dima's Demons was denied a third championship in a row, losing in the semifinals to Ramrod in
most exciting game of the season, 59-58.
Performances of note:
*Chris Chin 25 pts vs. Wonderbread, 26 pts vs. Dima's Demons
*George Kunkel 20 pts vs. Bushido Warriors, 29 pts vs. Wonderbread
*Nick Ar-bab 21 pts vs. Young 'n Fresh
*Felix Benito 19 pts vs. Squashers
*Matt Lobacz 25 pts vs. Team Slide
*Phil Schatz 22 pts vs. Squashers
*Habeeb Lanlokun 17 pts (5 3-pointers) vs. Regulators
Most importantly, bragging rights now belong to all those on Team Slide. With this season now behind us, let's hope that the 2008 season can be as exciting. We'll see you next spring.
