Baruch College Athletics

Ramon-Shane Johnson of the men's tennis team was voted by members of the athletic department as the Baruch Athlete of the Month for April/May 2007.

Johnson had an outstanding month at #6 singles by being named the MVP of the 2007 CUNYAC Tennis Tournament.

He won the fifth and deciding match to defeat Brooklyn College (5-4) in the CUNYAC Championship played on Sunday, April 29th, at the U.S. National Tennis Center in Queens.

He later won the fifth and deciding match again to defeat Alvernia College (5-4) in the First Round of the 2007 NCAA Tournament hosted by Swarthmore College. The victory was the first by a CUNY school in the NCAA Men's Tennis Tournament.

Overall, the Jamaica native recorded a 6-1 mark in singles and 6-2 mark in doubles during the month of April and May.
