The CUNY Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) office hosted its annual end of the year awards dinner on Wednesday, May 12 at Baruch College.

The dinner brings together athletic administrators and top athletes from among the 10 senior and five community colleges to allow the conference office to formally honor Scholar-Athletes,
All-Americans, and award the Senior College Commissioner Cup Trophy.

Justin Wong, a senior on the Baruch men's swimming team, was named the 2010 CUNYAC Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Wong, who helped captain his team to their first-ever CUNYAC Swimming Championship this past February, has earned a 3.74 GPA while majoring in finance and investments.

Andrew Smith (Men's Tennis, 3.57 GPA), Jessica Penaherrera-Kang (Women's Swimming, 3.46 GPA), and Kalea Davis (Women's Basketball, 3.28 GPA) were Baruch athletes named as honorable mention CUNYAC Scholar-Athletes.

Pablo Oliveira and Eryk Kowalski, member of Baruch's men's volleyball team, were among the 26 athletes in various sports that CUNYAC recognized as All-Americans for bringing national distinction to CUNY Athletics.

Finally, the Baruch athletic department was honored for a dominating 2009-10 year that saw six teams (women's cross country, women's basketball, men's volleyball, men & women's swimming, women's softball) win CUNYAC Tournament Championships.

The Bearcats totaled 143 points in first place and far outpaced Hunter which finished second with only 94 points.

The Commissioner Cup Trophy is based on a point system with final regular season standing (1st place 10 pts, 2nd place 5 pts, 3rd place 1pt) and tournament champion places (1st place 10 pts, 2nd place 5pts) accumulating points.

At the end of the year, the team with the most points wins the Senior College Commissioner Cup Trophy.
