The CUNY Athletic Conference has released the all-star list and top award winners for the 2010 softball season.

The Bearcats won two major honors along with five players receiving all star recognition for the 2010 softball season. The awards are voted by the CUNYAC's eight softball team coaches.

Nicole Flint was named the CUNYAC Rookie of the Year. Flint had an outstanding rookie season by batting .318 with 14 total RBI. On the mound, she recorded four victories in nine starts. Her biggest win was a 1-0 complete game against Staten Island that played a major part in helping the team secure first place.

Head Coach Jose Negroni was named the CUNYAC Coach of the Year for leading the Bearcats to their first-ever top finish in the CUNYAC standings. Negroni’s coaching staff includes Penny Weiner and Anthony Rodriguez.

The success this season was truly a team effort as pitcher Andrea Tepfer (13-5 record), 1B/3B Ashley Brandow (.371, 14 RBI), shortstop Melissa Pena (.368, 3 HR), and catcher Idelissa Lluveres (.305, 2HR, 20 RBI) were each named CUNYAC First Team All-Stars.

Second baseman Melanie Pellegrino (.300, 15 RB) was named a CUNYAC Second Team All-Star for the first time in her solid playing career. 

The Bearcats finished the regular season portion of their schedule with a 19-19 overall record and first place in CUNYAC with a 13-1 mark.
