The Nike Pro City League continued their summer schedule this past Tuesday night in Baruch College’s Athletic & Recreation Center.

Kevin Durant, one of the top players in the National Basketball Association (N.B.A.) and a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder, played for the team named “The Franchise” in front of a packed capacity crowd in Baruch’s ARC Arena.

Durant, who scored 66 points on Monday night in a game played at the famous Rucker Park in Harlem, scored 41 points on Tuesday evening and hit the tying 3-pointer to send the game into overtime. The Franchise pulled out the victory in overtime to record a high-scoring 146-143 victory over BigAppleBasketball.com.

Durant may have received all the attention, but John Lucas III, a member of the N.B.A.’s Chicago Bulls, also excited the crowd for BigAppleBasketball.com with a stunning 60 points as he and Durant battled with fan cameras flashing throughout the night.

The exciting game also featured players such as Roy Hibbert (Indiana Pacers & Georgetown), Sundiata Gaines (New Jersey Nets & Georgia), and former college stars such as Justin Burrele (St. John's), Andre Barrett (Seton Hall), Brian Laing (Seton Hall), Sean Singletary (Virginia), Corey Fisher (Villanova), and Keydren Clark (St. Peter's).

In the first game of the evening, Mike Poole, a rising star at Rutgers University, notched a double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds as Queensbridge suffered a 122-93 loss to the X-Men. Former UConn Star Taliek Brown scored 16 points in the win for X-Men.

The final regular season games will take place on Thursday night, August 4.
