Bulldogs Defeat Bearcats in Women's Tennis (8-1)

The women’s tennis team lost an 8-1 contest to the Bulldogs of Brooklyn College in a CUNYAC home contest played on Tuesday afternoon at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens.

Brooklyn won all three doubles and five of the six singles to record the 8-1 victory on a warm and humid afternoon on the very same courts that three weeks ago played host to the 2011 U.S. Open.

Marianna Kogan earned the Baruch point at #4 singles by posting a 6-3, 6-4 victory.

Barbara Lucas played a very competitive match at #6 singles but fell in a tie-breaker with a score of 10-3. She won the first set (6-3), but fell in the second (6-1) to force the tie-break.

The women’s tennis team will return to action on Thursday, September 29, with a CUNYAC road contest against John Jay College of Criminal Justice. First serve at Crotona Park in the Bronx is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
