Oren Kozlowski Named Top CUNYAC Rookie, Akil George & Christopher Peralta Named All-Stars

The CUNY Athletic Conference has announced the major award winners and all-stars for the 2012 men’s soccer season.

The Bearcats, the 2012 CUNYAC Tournament Champions, were honored with one major award and two all-stars in voting conducted by the league’s head coaches.


Oren Kozlowski was named the CUNYAC Rookie of the Year. The freshman from Tulsa, Oklahoma scored 13 goals and five assists for 31 points in his first season of intercollegiate soccer. Two of his goals this season were game-winners.

Akil George, who was recently named the CUNYAC Championship Tournament MVP, was honored for his solid regular season effort by being named a CUNYAC First Team All-Star. George totaled one goal and eight assists for 10 points, which included a three assist performance in the CUNYAC quarterfinal home win over York.

Christopher Peralta was named a CUNYAC First Team All-Star after totaling six goals and six assists for 18 points. One of his best matches this season came with a two goal performance at home against New Jersey City University.
