The women's tennis team defeated the Lightning of Lehman College, 5-0, in a CUNYAC Hospital for Special Surgery Quarterfinal Round Playoff Match on Sunday afternoon at the Billie Kean King U.S. National Tennis Center (USTA) in Queens.

Per postseason rules, the match was halted upon the winning team earning the fifth point.

Allie Jackson-Hing led the Bearcats by winning 6-0, 6-0 at first singles, and combined with Amandine Le Goupil-Maier at first doubles for an 8-0 score. Le Goupil-Maier was also victorious at second singles (6-1, 6-1), while Jennafer Mukofsky and Amanda Naraine won at second doubles with the score of 8-1.

The Bearcats advance to the semifinal round on Tuesday, October 22, for a 4:00 pm match against second place Brooklyn College at the USTA.  

Fans are reminded that while tickets for all CUNYAC Championship are free, they are still required and we urge them to secure their FREE tickets online BEFORE attending the event as the on-site registration process will delay their entry.
