The #7-ranked men's volleyball team swept the Cardinals of York College to win their fifth straight CUNYAC Championship on Friday night at CCNY's Nat Holman Gymnasium.

The Bearcats earn CUNYAC's automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament that will be hosted by M.I.T. on April 26-28 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The NCAA will announce the nine-team bracket on Sunday evening at 8:30 pm online via NCAA.com.

The men's volleyball championship is Baruch's seventh in the past eight years and eight overall in team history. Seven of the eight championships have come under the leadership of Allison and Justin Stack since 2006.

The Bearcats began the day by defeating the Bulldogs of Brooklyn College with scores of 25-13, 25-16, 25-18 to return to play in their ninth straight CUNYAC Championship. However, unlike the past nine years where the Bearcats found themselves playing Hunter, the Bearcats played a new opponent in York College this year after they upset Hunter in five sets.

The Cardinals have played the Bearcats tough this season and took a set in each of their two head-to-head matches. However, with the NCAA berth awaiting the winner, the Bearcats wasted no time in recording a convincing 25-11, 25-18, 25-10 victory to win the championship.

For the second straight year,
Jack McKee was named Tournament MVP with 13 kills hitting .571 to go along with two blocks. He has totaled 40 kills in his two championship match performances.

Brady Ambro continues his outstanding rookie season with 10 kills hitting .500 with 11 digs. Rookie Scott Standring dished out 29 assists and Nick Smith had seven digs. Martin Joksimovik had six blocks in a major defensive effort to help lift Baruch to the title.
