The men's volleyball team defeated the Cougars of Medgar Evers College in three to advance to the championship rounds on Friday night at Hunter College.

The Bearcats posted 25-6, 25-13, 25-17 scores to advance to play Lehman College on Friday at 6:00 pm. The winner will play in the final scheduled for the same evening at 8:00 pm on ESPN3. For a complete schedule, please scroll to the bottom of this story.

Chris Kaimis led way this evening with eight kills, while Yanni Malo (.700) and Nick Smith (.500) tallied seven kills each. Scott Standring had 22 assists in the quarterfinal win.

Jamal Chance led the Cougars with six kills and three digs.

Overall, the Bearcats totaled 41 kills hitting .408, while the visiting Cougars had 12 kills hitting .040.

"We are excited about the opportunity to defend our title on Friday night," said Baruch Head Coach Danial Levent. "We need to get ready the next two days because Friday night's matches will be a battle."
