Membership Information & Fee Schedule

We reserve the right to deny membership to the Athletics & Recreation Complex at Baruch College (ARC) when we are at capacity. When this happens, however, current members will still be allowed to renew the membership they already have.

Introduction

The Baruch College Athletic & Recreation Complex offers membership packages for students, staff and faculty, Baruch College alumni, and outside members not affiliated with the college. All membership packages include access to our state-of-the-art Fitness Center, Olympic-size swimming pool, and three racquetball courts. We do not offer facility-specific memberships (eg. Pool-only).

The Baruch College Athletic & Recreation Complex (also referred to as the ARC) occupies the three basement levels within the award-winning Vertical Campus and is open year-round. When the college is closed, the ARC will be closed. The ARC also closes annually for a minimum of two weeks in August for maintenance.

 All closings will be announced on our website and around the ARC. No credit or refund will be given for any closing.

As an entity of Baruch College and the City University of New York, there are some events that may affect the availability of the ARC. We reserve the right to cancel any reservations (i.e. racquetball) with or without notice, or close the ARC to facilitate college-related events.

The hours of operation change according to the Academic Calendar. Our regular hours of operation are effective during the Fall and Spring semesters. Reduced hours are effective during Fall Finals, Winter Session, Spring Break, Spring Finals, and both Summer Sessions.

All facility schedules will be kept updated on our website, and around the ARC.

If you are interested in seeing the ARC before joining, plan ahead as that is only allowed on weekdays when the Operations Office is open. Please call the office line at 646-312-5043 or 5054.

Membership Information

All  enrolled Baruch College undergraduate and graduate students are granted free access to the ARC with a valid student ID card.

All ID cards are issued through the ID Center. All Students, Staff and Faculty, Baruch College Alumni, and ARC Members are required to keep their ID cards updated through the ID Center.

Is there a fee to join?

There is no fee for the Athletics & Recreation Complex.

What are the accepted forms of payment for Membership?

THE ACCEPTED PAYMENT TYPES are Personal Check, Money Order, Mastercard, and American Express. Personal Checks and Money Orders should be be made payable to BARUCH COLLEGE.

What are the offered membership options?

THE BARUCH COLLEGE COMMUNITY

BARUCH COLLEGE STUDENTS are granted free access to the ARC.

This applies only to enrolled Undergraduate and Graduate students.

BARUCH FACULTY and STAFF MEMBERSHIP option is offered to Baruch College Faculty and Staff members at a deeply discounted rate. Please show your Staff/Faculty ID Card at the membership office. The membership year begins in September and ends in August.

Membership Fees: $275 annually or $137.50 biannually. 

BARUCH COLLEGE ALUMNI MEMBERSHIP option is offered to Baruch College Alumni Association members at a discounted rate. Please show your Alumni ID Card at the membership office. The membership year begins in September and ends in August.

Membership Fees: $350 annually or $175 biannually.

THE CUNY COMMUNITY

CUNY FACULTY and STAFF MEMBERSHIP option is offered to the Faculty and Staff members at other CUNY colleges at a discounted rate. Please show your CUNY Staff/Faculty ID Card at the membership office. The membership year begins in September and ends in August.

Membership Fees: $400 annually or $200 biannually. 

CUNY GRADUATE CENTER STUDENT MEMBERSHIP option is offered to students of the CUNY Graduate Center at 365 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY 10016.

Please note that this is offered to students only.

Graduate Center staff and faculty will qualify for the CUNY Faculty and Staff membership.

“By special arrangement with Baruch College, enrolled Graduate Center students have been allowed to become members of the Baruch College Athletics and Recreation Complex (ARC), and it is anticipated that this arrangement will continue. Under the current provisions, Graduate Center students need to obtain from the GC Registrar’s office a certification of enrollment to present to the ARC Facilities Director and complete paperwork at Baruch along with payment of $100 for the year.” (www.gc.cuny.edu/Prospective-Current-Students/Student-Life/Health---Wellness/Fitness 

The membership promotion begins in September and ends in August.

Membership Fee: $100. This fee is not prorated.

THE OUTSIDE COMMUNITY

We offer memberships to the outside community provided that all members are aware of membership, payment, and public safety policies.

OUTSIDE COMMUNITY MEMBERSHIP option is offered to persons who are not affiliated with Baruch College, but have an interest in using the Athletics & Recreation Facility (ARC). Additionally, this membership is offered to Baruch Continuing and Professional Studies Students, as well as other CUNY College Students. The membership year begins in September and ends in August.

Membership Fees

- Reg. Members (17+) pay $600 annually or $300 biannually or $150 quarterly. 

- Senior Citizens (65+) pay $450 annually or $225 biannually or $112.50 quarterly.

Guest Pass Information

Our Guest Pass fee schedule has changed.

We offer passes that can be purchased by members for their guests. The member while using the ARC must accompany guest(s). Passes are sold at the Operations Office during the available hours of operation. Passes are sold in packs of two.

Price with a Baruch College Student, Staff or Faculty, or Alumni ID: $15/pack

Price with a Baruch College ARC Member ID: $25/pack

Price for non-members: $30/pack

- All passes are non-refundable, and must be redeemed within six months.

- One visit per pass. One pass per guest.

- Pass-holders must exchange their pass for a ticket at the Public Safety desk before they can enter the facility. Each ticket must be given to the Fitness Center and/or Pool Staff.

Lockers for Members

- Pool lockers are available to members on a daily basis for free. Personal lock required.

- Three-hour long lockers are also available to members on a daily basis. Cylinders are built into these lockers. The Fitness Center Front Desk provides keys. Students and members can exchange their ID card for a key.

Note: The lockers to the right of the elevator on Level B3 are for rent, and are the only lockers available to members for rental on a per semester basis.

The fees are as follows:

Fall Rental (September to January 31st)  $85.00

Spring Rental (February to May 31st)  $85.00

Summer Rental (June to 2nd week in August)  $65.00
