Washington def. Baruch, 3-1 (17-25, 25-21, 25-23, 28-26) BOX SCORE
The final match of the invitational turned into an exciting encounter between schools from the CUNYAC and Centennial Conference. The Bearcats won the opener, 25-17, but the Shorewomen fought back to win the next three in very tightly contested sets. Arielle Brown led Washington with 23 digs and Caitlin Ward finished her New York trip with 40 assists. Nicole Baruffaldi notched 16 kills, Kristin Walker had 33 assists and Martina Micko added four aces for the Bearcats.

Colby-Sawyer def. Baruch, 3-1 (25-9, 25-20, 22-25, 25-19) BOX SCORE
Colby-Sawyer defeated the Bearcats to capture the championship with a perfect 4-0 record. Genny Moore paced Colby-Sawyer with 30 assists, while Invitational MVP Michelle Doody notched 13 kills and six digs. Martina Micko had eight kills and Kristin Walker dished out 24 assists to lead the Bearcats.


Stevenson def. Cabrini, 3-0 (25-22, 29-27, 25-23)
The battle for second place saw Stevenson take the victory behind the solid efforts of Danielle Helwig with 13 kills, 12 digs and two aces. Beth Gillespie (nine kills) and Danielle Kulich (six kills) had the best numbers for Cabrini College from the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference.


Colby-Sawyer def. Stevenson, 3-1 (25-13, 25-22, 20-25, 25-13)
Colby-Sawyer handed Stevenson their very first loss of the season with a four-set victory in the opening morning match. Colby-Sawyer put together a strong team effort with Michelle Doody (18 kills), Genny Moore (31 assists) and Taylor Forsberg (12 digs). Stevenson received another solid match from Alex Mercer with 12 kills and Brittany Umetin had 28 assists. Danielle Helwig recorded 12 digs. Colby-Sawyer set the tone early by winning the opening set in impressive fashion with a 25-13 score.


Cabrini def.
Washington, 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-14) BOX SCORE
Cabrini earned their second victory of the tournament with a sweep of Washington. Lindsay Martin recorded 12 kills and Alexis Doss had 11 assists to lead Cabrini to the victory. Caitlin Ward led the Shorewomen of Washington with 26 assists.


Saturday, September 20

Colby-Sawyer def. Cabrini, 3-0. (25-18, 25-21, 25-22) Colby-Sawyer led from start to finish to wrap up the morning victory. Cabrini did manage to keep the third set close, 23-22, but Colby-Sawyer scored the final two points for the win. Genny Moore led the offensive attack for Colby-Sawyer with 41 assists, while Taylor Forsberg recorded 11 digs. Michelle Doody and Kristen Romanko notched eight kills each. Lizzie Williams led Cabrini with 21 assists.

Stevenson def Washington, 3-0. (26-24, 25-16, 25-15) BOX SCORE
Alex Mercer notched 12 kills and Brittany Umetin dished out 21 assists to lead Stevenson (formerly Villa Julie) to an undefeated record of 14-0. The opening match was tied at 24, but Stevenson scored the final two points to victory. Caitlin Ward led Washington with 16 assists and Arielle Brown had 14 digs.


Colby-Sawyer def. Washington, 3-0. (25-17, 25-17, 25-22) BOX SCORE
Colby-Sawyer won their second match of the invitational with a sweep of Washington. Kristen Romanko led the way with a team-high nine kills, while Genny Moore had 21 assists and two aces. Caitlin Ward recorded 17 assists for Washington of Maryland and Arielle Brown was busy again defensively with a team-high 13 digs.
Colby-Sawyer will battle Stevenson on Sunday morning at 10:00 am in a battle between two undefeated schools in this invitational.

Stevenson def. Baruch, 3-1. (23-25, 25-12, 25-11, 25-19) BOX SCORE
Stevenson also won their second match of the invitational and stay undefeated on the season (15-0). The Bearcats won the opening set by rallying from a
21-17 deficit to win, 25-23. However, Stevenson roared back with 25-12 and 25-11 victories in the next two sets. They finished off the victory in the fourth with a 25-19 scoreline. Stevenson, which featured five players with five or more kills, were led by Alex Mercer with 13 kills and Amy Rudolph with 17 assists. Martina Micko led the Bearcats with nine kills and Kristin Walker had 16 assists.

Cabrini def. Baruch, 3-0. (25-9, 25-14, 25-15) BOX SCORE
Alexis Doss led the visitors from Pennsylvania with a team-high 14 kills and Lizzie Williams dished out 29 assists for the invitational victory. The Bearcats received five kills each from Nicole Baruffaldi and Martina Micko. Lizmarie Vasquez had 12 digs on the defensive end.
