The women’s basketball team cruised to an 80-46 home victory against Lehman College on Friday night in the ARC Arena.

With the victory, the Bearcats finish the conference schedule unbeaten to clinch the regular season championship in first place. In addition, with the men’s victory this evening, Baruch becomes the first school in CUNYAC basketball history to have both the men and women finish undefeated in the standings.

Prior to the start of the game, the team honored seniors Karlee Whipple and Awa Diop. The two valuable players were playing in their final regular season home game.

The Bearcats connected on 14 total three-pointers, shot 43 percent from the field and forced Lehman into 25 turnovers to run their record to a perfect 13-0 in CUNYAC for the second time in three years.

Baruch, who led at one point 68-30 with 6:55 left, also won their 20th game for the fifth straight season under Machli Joseph.

Kalea Davis notched her 14th consecutive double-double with 14 points and 16 rebounds to take over sole possession of second place on the all-time NCAA Div. III list.

Shadae Rice continues her strong showing off the bench again with 17 points, including 5-of-7 from three-point range.

Whipple and Lorin Clarke each finished with nine points. Monique Salmon continued her strong point guard display with 10 total assists this evening.

Kelsey Ash led the visiting Lightning of Lehman College with 15 points. Whittney Barnes finished with nine points and rebounds each.

The Bearcats will return to action on Saturday, February 21, with a 1:00 pm CUNYAC quarterfinal home game in the ARC Arena against an opponent to be determined.

The entire CUNYAC Tournament schedule is expected to be confirmed on Monday and will be posted when it is available.
