Softball Sweeps Doubleheader From St. Joseph's of Brooklyn (7-0, 9-6)

The softball team won their 17th and 18th games of the season by sweeping a doubleheader from St. Joseph’s College of Brooklyn on Friday afternoon.

The Bearcats won with scores of 7-0 and 9-6 to raise their season record to 18-14 overall, while the Bears of St. Joseph’s drop to 12-13-1.


Nicole Flint pitched another shutout, this time a 3-hitter, to go along with a season-high 13 strikeouts for the 7-0 victory.

The visiting Bearcats totaled 12 hits with
Olivia Auman having a big game at the plate by batting 3-for-4, with three RBI, three runs scored, and a two run homer in the fourth inning.

In the second game, the Bearcats trailed 6-4 heading into the sixth inning, but exploded with five runs on five hits en route to the 9-6 victory.


Christine Bowman  was the star of this game by batting 3-for-4. Nine different players scored at last one run in the road victory.

The Bearcats will return to action on Sunday, April 28, with a 12:00 pm doubleheader at Manhattanville College in Purchase, New York.
