The meet started with the women's 200 medley relay of

The men's 200 medley race was very close with the team of

Team co-captain
Sally Lim led the girls in winning fashion in the 800 meter freestyle, followed by sophomore Adriana Stosic in third place after a grueling 32 laps.

Next up was the duo of
David Scholes and Miguel Meza, who placed first and second in the 800 freestyle by out-swimming the College of Staten Island men.

The women's 200 freestyle was another event the Bearcats placed 1st and 2nd with co-captain
Rose Lee and Samuels leaving their competitors behind, along with senior Diana Luong finishing strong coming in 4th place.

The men's 200 freestyle both had a close race with
Jacky Lau ultimately being touched out for 2nd place, followed by teammate Andrew Lubrino in third.

Next followed the 50 freestyle with
Daniela Marquez, Amy Sung, and Safiya Sergeantt placing in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th places respectively. For the men, freshman Eric Wang broke the freshman and school record for the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.79.

The 200 individual medley saw Adrianna Martinez place second. Michael Matskovsky stirred the team, as he finished first in the 200 IM by more than 10 seconds ahead of his opponent.

After a quick break, it was onto the 100 butterfly and the Bearcats continued to have great swims with Daniela Giraldo placing first and Jessica Lin third.

Eric Wang and
Miguel Meza placed 1st and 3rd in the 100 butterfly.

Next was the 100 freestyle, a fast event, where sophomore Daniela Marquez and freshman Rachel Samuels placed 1st and 3rd. For the men, the captain Jacky Lau broke the 100 Freestyle school record by swimming a time of 54.51, while freshman Andrew Lubrino was right behind him coming in 2nd place.

Rose Lee continued to lead the women placing first in the 100 backstroke. The men's 100 backstroke saw Michael Matskovsky and David Scholes placing 2nd and 3rd.

Then it was back to a distance event with the 400 Freestyle. Adrianna Martinez and Adriana Stosic placed 2nd and 3rd in the event. For the men, it was again the resilient duo of David Scholes and Miguel Meza placing 1st and 2nd, while teammate
Jeffrey Bosmediano had quite the race as well out-touching Chris Barros of The College of Staten Island for a 4th place finish.

In the 100 breaststroke, the Bearcats continued their drive with Sally Lim placing 2nd, right behind her was Amy Sung, who is also the captain of the Women's Volleyball Team.

The men in an electrifying race saw captain Jonathan Hla placing 2nd after fighting for 1st all four laps. Freshman David Pejovic was right behind him placing 3rd.

To end it off was the always exciting, very loud and fast 200 freestyle relay. This was the finishing touch for the women's victory the team as Safiya Sergeant, Adrianna Stosic, Rose Lee, and Daniela Marquez won in first place.

The men's team of Eric Wang, Andrew Lubrino, David Pejovic and Jacky Lau, all with great swims throughout the meet, finished strong with a convincing win in 1st place.

The Bearcats plan to keep the momentum going. The College of Staten Island Men's team is the 2014 CUNYAC Champions, so this is a significant win for the men's team.

For the women, they extended their CUNY Athletic Conference win streak to 31 since the 2008 season. The Bearcats next compete on Thursday, November 13th in a tri-meet against Queens College and Adelphi University, both Division II schools. The meet will take place at Queens College.
