The softball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader to SUNY-Old Westbury (13-3, 16-4) on Wednesday afternoon in Old Westbury, New York.

In the first game, the Bearcats scored their three runs all in the fifth inning. Courtney White smacked a two-run triple to right field to plate Christina Chin and Jessica Piccolino. Olivia Auman followed up next with an RBI double to left field to score White for the three runs in the opening game.

In the second game, the Bearcats scored four runs on seven hits. White reached base in the first inning on a fielding error by the Panthers and that enabled Chin to score on the same play for the early 1-0 lead.

The Bearcats scored their next three runs all in the sixth inning. Kristen Podlovits had an RBI to score White and Jaclyn Torres followed up with an RBI ground out to plate Auman.

Piccolino rounded out the scoring with an RBI single to centerfield to score Podlovits for the team's fourth run.

The Bearcats will return to action Thursday morning, April 17, with a CUNYAC home doubleheader against Lehman College. First pitch at Randall's Island Field #12 is scheduled for 10:00 am.
