Softball Team Defeats Yeshiva (17-6) for First Win

The softball team earned their first win in a high-scoring 17-6 contest against Yeshiva University on Tuesday evening at the Fordham University softball complex in the Bronx, New York.

Four different players had two hits each and seven different players scored two runs to hand the Bearcats the non-conference road victory.

The visiting Bearcats exploded with 13 runs in the final two innings to turn a competitive contest into a late rout.

Rookie Cassandra Lagana earned her first win with five strikeouts on the mound.

Jessica Piccolino walked three times, stole three bases, and had two RBI.

Nicole Bellini and Kaitlyn Vichas each had a double.

The softball team will return to action tomorrow, Wednesday, March 23, with a CUNYAC make up doubleheader at York College. First pitch at Padavan-Prellers Field in the Bellerose section of Queens is scheduled for 3:45 p.m.
