Men's Tennis Knocks Out Purchase (7-2) to Earn First Win of Season

The men's tennis team defeated the Panthers of SUNY-Purchase, 7-2, in a non-conference contest on a sunny and warm Tuesday afternoon in Purchase, New York.

The Bearcats posted wins in two of the three doubles and followed by winning five of the six singles en route to the road win.

Hugo Castalan won at first singles, 6-2, 6-1, while David Alabo stays undefeated this season in singles with a 6-1, 6-0 win at the second flight.

The doubles team of Sharki Ahmed and Chad Seaver won a hard-fought match at third doubles, 9-7.

The Bearcats will begin their CUNYAC schedule on Friday, with a 12:30 p.m. contest against CCNY at the U.S. National Tennis Center.
