The Baruch Bearcats defeated the Lightning of Lehman College in a CUNYAC Meet on Thursday night in the ARC Aquatic Center.

With the results, the women keep control of second place with a 5-1 record, while the men also solidify second place at 3-1.

Please note the dual swim meet on Monday, January 16 (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day) against Manhattan College and LIU-Brooklyn has been postponed. No rescheduled date is available at this time.

The next scheduled meet will be Senior Night on Monday, January 23, at 7:00 p.m. against St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn.

HIGHLIGHTS

* The women started the meet with a 200 medley relay win at 2:20.51 behind the efforts of
Ashley Louke, Yee Chung Phang, Asimina Hamakiotes and Rachel Samuels.

*
Wendy Ambrosio won in the 800 free (11:00.91).

*
Daniela Giraldo continues to win meet after meet, this time winning the 200 free in a time of 2:36.38 and the 100 butterfly in 1:15.15.

*
Gabrielle Huezo finished second in the 100 butterfly at 1:22.85. Cristina Andrade was second in the 200 free at 2:58.37.

* Rachel Samuels (29.89) and Ashley Louke (32.48), who were on the winning 200 medley relay, also took first place in the 50 free.

* Yee Chung Phang won the 200 I.M. in a time of 2:42.91.

*
Andrea Gasic was second in the 100 free (1:07.85) and 800 free (11:45.66) events.

* The women took the top three spots in the 100 backstroke with Ashley Louke (1:24.27),
Markella Giannakopoulos (1:38.48), and Ada Gorodetskiy (1:43.31).

* The men also cruised in the opening 200 medley relay event with
Eddy Min, Jonathan Hla, Sam Fassler, and Andrew Lubrino taking it with a time of 2:01.15.

*
Matthew Greenfield took first place in the arduous 800 free (10:31.47).

*
Joseph Vasile was second in the 200 freestyle (2:22.23).

* Andrew Lubrino was also victorious in the 50 free at 26.12 and 100 free at 57.43.

* Eddy Min (2:30.95) and
Erik Kantar (2:33.89) took the top two places in the 200 I.M.
