Rally Falls Short in 3-2 Loss to NYU

A late rally by the men's soccer team came up one goal short in a 3-2 non-conference loss to the Violets of New York University on Columbus Day evening at Gaelic Park in Riverdale, New York.

The visiting Bearcats fell behind 3-0 with the first goal scored by NYU in the 4th minute on a long through ball that found Inder Sharma. The Violets scored two more in a span of four minutes in the second half, starting in the 53rd minute, to build up a 3-0 advantage.

The Bearcats did not go away quietly thanks to Dortion Alipaj, who scored in the 73rd minute off a rebound and 88th minute again during a defensive scrum in the box to get as close as 3-2 on the scoreboard.

Unfortunately, time ran out and the Bearcats suffered the narrow 3-2 loss in a match where they out-shot their hosts by a 21-10 margin on the Division I soccer field of Manhattan College.
