The men's and women's swimming teams each won their season opener by defeating the Pioneers of William Paterson University on Tuesday night in the ARC Arena.
Prior to the match, the coaches and athletic department honored last year's championship teams by awarding them rings and special gear to highlight their accomplishments.

The Bearcats will return to action on Friday, November 2nd against CUNYAC opponent York College in Jamaica, New York.
HIGHLIGHTS​
*The men and women opened the meet with two first place finishes in the 200 Medley Relay. The women's relay with Ashley Louke, Amanda Lee, Andrea Gasic and Karina Gotz pulled ahead with a time of 2:18.69. On the men's side, the relay of Eddy Min, Erik Kantar, Evan Nikolic and Max Lin finished with a time of 2:00.48.
Women's captain Yee Chung Phang finished 2nd in a grueling back-and-forth 800 Freestyle race with a time of 10:43.43, just shy of the winning time of 10:43.14. The men followed with a 3rd, 4th and 5th place finish with junior Gregory Becker coming in at a time of 10:37.46.
Women's captain Andrea Gasic finished first in the 200 Freestyle with teammate Nicole Ousmanova coming in 3rd place.
Freshman Juan Bedoya led the men to a victory in the 200 Freestyle with teammate Evan Nikolic finishing in 3rd.
Sophomore sprinter Amanda Lee won the 50 Freestyle and teammate Onika George finished right behind in 2nd place.
On the men's side, Julian Tineo finished in 2nd place in the 50 Freestyle with freshman Max Lin coming in 3rd.
Yee Chung Phang finished 1st in the 200 Individual Medley with teammate Asimina Hamakiotes coming in 3rd place.
Freshman Erich Moeslinger came in 2nd place in the 200 Individual Medley with freshman Juan Bedoya finishing in 3rd place.
Asimina Hamakiotes finished 3rd in the 100 Butterfly.
Evan Nikolic won the 100 butterfly with teammates Eddy Min and Gregory Becker coming in 2nd place and 4th respectively.
In the women's 100 Freestyle, sprinters Amanda Lee and Onika George teamed up for 2nd and 3rd place. Â
Juan Bedoya came in 2nd and Julian Tineo came in 4th in the 100 Freestyle.
In the women's 100 Backstroke, Nicole Ousmanova finished in 2nd place with Ashley Louke coming in 3rd.
In the men's 100 Backstroke, the Bearcats swept 1st, 2nd and 3rd place with freshman Erich Moeslinger winning,Â
Joseph Vasile coming in 2nd and David Matskovsky finishing 3rd.
Andrea Gasic finished 2nd in the 400 Freestyle.
Men's captain Matthew Greenfield finished 3rd in the 400 Freestyle.
In the women's 100 Breaststroke, Yee Chung Phang captures her second gold of the night and Debbie Li finished 3rd.
In the men's 100 Breaststroke, freshman Max Lin took 2nd followed by freshman Nicholas Blanco finishing in 3rd.
The men and women rounded up the meet with two 2nd place finishes in the 200 Freestyle Relay.
