CUNYAC Semifinal: Bearcats 5, John Jay 3; Bearcats Play Hunter in Friday Final

The women's tennis team received a scare in doubles, but bounced back to win the necessary points in singles to record a hard-fought 5-3 semifinal home win against John Jay College of Criminal Justice on Tuesday evening at the Binghamton Racquet Club in Edgewater, New Jersey.

The Bloodhounds won two of the three doubles for an early 2-1 advantage, but the Bearcats won four singles points to return to the CUNYAC Final for the first time since 2016.

The Bearcats will play Hunter College on Friday, October 25, for the CUNYAC Title and coveted berth to NCAA Tournament. First serve is scheduled for 3:00 p.m at the USTA Billie Jean King U.S. National Tennis Center.

"We faced a very determined opponent this evening," said Head Coach Gregory Wyzykowski. "Happy to see our team fight hard and earn a well-deserved trip to the CUNYAC Finals."
