John Jay Defeats Bearcats in CUNYAC Action

The softball team lost both ends of a CUNYAC doubleheader to John Jay College, both by the scores of 13-4, at Randall's Island on Thursday afternoon.

In the first game, the visiting Bearcats scored first with Jooyoung Park hitting a single and advancing all the way to third on a throwing error. During the same play, Danielle Petrunti came around to score for the early 1-0 lead.  

The Bloodhounds scored the next 10 runs spread out over the next five innings, but the Bearcats bats came alive again in the top of the sixth with three runs.

Gabrielle Huezo smacked an RBI single and Petrunti had a two RBI single, but it wasn't enough as the Bloodhounds won the first game in six innings. 

In the second game, the Bearcats jumped out to a 4-0 lead in their first at-bat.

Gabrielle Huezo smacked an RBI single to bring home Victoria Kisling.

A wild pitch enabled Petrunti to score for a 2-0 advantage. Darine Mata had a solid at-bat with a two RBI double to left center for the 4-0 lead.

The Bloodhounds rallied back with three runs in their opening at-bat and added five more in the second to record with the second game win.
