The Bearcats on Friday night had split results against the Pioneers of William Paterson University in the ARC Aquatic Center.

The men recorded a 94-90 win, while the women lost a tough meet 114-72.

TOP HIGHLIGHTS EVENT-BY-EVENT (METERS)

- Astudillo finished second in the marathon 800 freestyle (12:10.14).

- Valdivia won his marathon 800 freestyle (10:30.34).

- Kira out-raced the Pioneers to win the 200 free (2:29.47). Teammate Chavez finished second (2:30.99) to give the Bearcats 1-2 in the event.

- Meron came in second in the 200 free (2:19.06).

- J.Wong posted second place in the 200 IM (2:58.37).

- Elkhouly won the 200 IM by 18 seconds with a time of 2:16.62.

 - Astudillo finished second in the 100 butterfly (1:24.13).

 - Meron came up big again, this time winning the 100 butterfly (1:05.59).

- Chavez placed in second in the 100 free (1:08.49).

 - Kira wrapped up a great night winning the 100 back in just under a second defeating her opponent (1:12.49).

- Elkhouly won again, this time in the 100 Back (1:01.20). He broke Jacky Lau's school record in the process of winning.

- Quinn, who will run for the women's cross country team on Sunday morning at the CUNYAC Final, took second place in the tough 400 free (6:22.20).

- Valdivia was second in the 400 free (5:05.09).

- J.Wong won the 100 breast by six seconds with a time of 1:27.87.

- Lin earned nine big team points for 1st place winning the 100 breast (1:17.92). 

- The men clinched their team victory (74-40) by taking 11 points (first place) winning the last event the 200 free relay (1:51.71) behind the efforts of Elkhouly, Lin, F.Lopez, and Meron. It was Elkhouly's third win of the evening.
