Farmingdale State Edges Bearcats (5-4)

The women's tennis team lost a hard-fought non-conference contest to the Rams of Farmingdale State on Thursday on Long Island.

The host Rams won two of the three doubles and three of the six singles for the 5-4 result.

Ava Deguzman (#1, 6-2, 6-1) and Esther Benjamin (#2, 6-2, 6-2) were each victorious in their singles contest (6-2, 6-1) and teamed up in first doubles to win 8-3.

The Bearcats earned their fourth point with Regina Kelley winning at third singles in a strong comeback, 4-6, 6-2, 7-5.

The Bearcats will resume action on Sunday with their home opener at the U.S. National Tennis Center scheduled for 1:00 p.m. against Sarah Lawrence College.
