Bulldogs Top Bearcats in Women's Basketball

The women's basketball team lost 75-62 to the Bulldogs of Brooklyn College on Wednesday night.

The visiting Bearcats started strong leading 12-10, but the Bulldogs finished the first quarter with a 12-5 run for a 22-17 advantage. They stretched their lead to as much as 20 points (43-23) during the second quarter. 

The Bearcats never gave up and played better in the third getting as close as 53-49 on a jumper by Elissa Leung with 2:12 left.

Gianna Gotti scored seven of the final eight points of the third quarter to build the Bulldogs lead back up to 61-49.   

The Bearcats battled in the final quarter but could not cut the double-digit deficit as the hosts won 71-58.

Mia Castillo led the Bearcats with 22 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. Leung finished with 15 points.   

Gotti led the Bulldogs with 24 points and 11 rebounds.
