Youssef Elkhouly Becomes Men's Swimming All-Time Scorer!

12/27/2024 4:41:00 PM

The Baruch College Swimming Team is proud to announce that a major all-time school record has been broken by senior star Youssef Elkhouly.

During the 2023-24 season, Youssef achieved 1,000 career points in only three years, becoming only the sixth men's swimmer to achieve this milestone feat.

He has since added to the total and thanks to his displays at the recent ECAC Winter Championships on Long Island he went ahead of Kenny Kim (2013, 1,305.75 total points). He is now Baruch's all-time swimming scorer with 1,332.75 points with a half of season left to add to the total.

In swimming, every event finish (1st place - 5 points, 2nd place - 3 points, etc.) has a certain amount of points and Youssef has been a regular finisher in the Top Three to accumulate many points in his illustrious career.

Youssef said "I am very fortunate to be in this position, my coaches and the teammates I have had around me these past three years have pushed me and helped me be able to achieve this goal. The support of many of the past 1,000-point scorers has really meant a lot to me."

The men's swimming team is off to an undefeated start this season with a 4-0 overall record heading into January.
