Baruch Swim Teams Narrowly Lose to Division II College of Staten Island

Baruch's swim teams traveled away to the College of Staten Island to face off against the Dolphins on Monday.

The Bearcats came very close in a hard-fought battle against the higher NCAA Division II team.

This was only the first loss of the 2024-25 regular season for the men, who are now 6-1.

The women are now 7-2 on the regular season schedule.

HIGHLIGHTS

Allyse Alexander won the 50 free with the quickest time of 26.04. Alexander also came in first place for the 100 Yard butterfly and was on the squad that won the 200 yard free relay that combined for a 1:46.55 time along with Kira Chen, Kaetlyn Chavez, and Ashley Leal.

Chen won the 100 backstroke with a 1:04.82 time and she came in second place in the 200 IM.

Chavez was second in the 1,000 and 500 yard freestyle events with 12:41.43 and 6:18.97, respectively.

Ashley Leal won the 200 freestyle with a 2:13.17 time and was second in the 100 freestyle.

Joyce Wong was second in the 100 breaststroke with 1:20.09

Youssef Elkhouly was first in the 50 and 100 yard freestyles with a 21.96 and 48.15 time, respectively.

Daniel Vasilkoff was came in first place in the 200 IM with a 2:00.99 time, in front of the Division II Dolphins' swimmer, William V Kwan. Vasilkoff also swam in first during the 100 Yard breaststroke with a 1:00.03 time.

Ramiel Fayngersh came in first in the 200 Yard Freestyle with the fastest time of 1:50.68.

Michael Guzman was first in the 500 yard freestyle with a 5:15.09 time.

Greg Terentyev was first in the 1,000 freestyle with the fastest time of 10:54.78.
