We reserve the right to deny membership to the Athletics & Recreation Complex at Baruch College (ARC) when we are at capacity. When this happens, however, current members will still be allowed to renew the membership they already have.

 

Where is the ARC located?
The entrance to the ARC is on the corner of 24th Street and Lexington Avenue, NYC.

The Athletics & Recreation Complex is housed on the three (3) basement levels of the Vertical Campus.

An ARC Membership grants access to the following areas:

Level B1

» Fitness Center

» Membership Office

» Men's & Women's General Locker Rooms

   + Saunas

   + Long Lockers (For Daily Use Only. Exchange your Membership/Student ID card for a key at the Fitness Center Front Desk. Limit three (3) hours only.) All items left overnight will be removed and discarded.

Level B2

» Main Gymnasium

» Auxiliary Gymnasium

» Public Men's & Women's Rest Rooms

Level B3

» Pool

» Racquetball Courts (A, B, C)

» Short Lockers, to the right of the Elevator (For Overnight Use only. Lockers are not included with any membership package, but they can be rented at the Membership Office). Please note that the short lockers that are in the Pool locker rooms are for daily use only. All items left overnight will be removed and discarded.


 

When is the facility open?

What are the busiest times?

» Fitness Center (anytime after 12 Noon)

» Gymnasiums (view schedule for *Open-Gym)

*Open-Gym means the gymnasium is open to students and members with proper ID.

» Pool (view schedule for *Lap Swim)

- The pool tends to be more crowded during the late mornings and afternoons.

*Lap Swim means times that the Pool is available to students and members outside of Events and Rental Groups. Please have your ID at all times.

» Racquetball Courts (You must call the Fitness Center at 646-312-5054 to make a court reservation. Reservations are first come, first serve for all three courts.)


Does the Fitness Center offer classes?

No classes available at this time.

How much is it to join?

There are a variety of membership packages available. Please see the Membership Information page below for details. Both Full-Time and Part-Time Baruch College Undergraduate and Graduate Students gain free access to the ARC. You need to show your Baruch ID for admittance.

Is there a month-to-month membership?

We do not offer a monthly membership at this time. However, we do offer a variety of day passes that may meet your needs. Standard memberships are offered annually and semi-annually and quarterly (for outside community members only).

 

Pass Payment options: Personal Check or Money Order.

We offer passes that can be purchased by members for their guests. The member while using the ARC must accompany guest(s). Passes are sold at the Operations Office during the available hours of operation. Passes are sold in packs of two.

Price with a Baruch College Student, Staff or Faculty, or Alumni ID: $15/pack

Price with a Baruch College ARC Member ID: $25/pack

Price for non-members: $30/pack

What are the terms for termination?

You can cancel your membership for a pro-rated refund at any time. Common reasons for cancellation include, but are not limited to:

» Relocation
» Pregnancy \ Child birth
» Illness
» Crowding
» Policies
» Hours of Operation

A membership can also be frozen for a period of time at your request. Simply notify the membership office of the dates, and be sure to contact the office again when you are ready to activate your membership.

Memberships will also be terminated without refund for any of the following:

» Abuse (verbal/physical) directed to any of our employees
» Refusing to follow our rules and regulations

 

What are the various methods of payment?

All fees are flat rate, there is no transaction fee applied to your membership. Accepted types of payment are limited to:

 

» Personal Check or Money Order, made payable to 'Baruch College'.
» Credit/Debit Card - American Express and Mastercard Only.  No Visa.


 

Can the membership be transferred or sold to another person?

No.


Does the contract automatically renew?

No. There are four (2) ways to renew:

» Go to the Operations Office on Level B1, Room 117.

» Call the office at 646-312-5049.

 

 

Does my ID automatically renew?

No. All persons with memberships must contact the ID Center to get their ID updated after each time.


Does my membership include any amenities, such as lockers, personal trainers, supplements, etc.?

 

» Lockers - Members can use daily lockers for free by exchanging their ID Card for a key from the Fitness Center Front Desk. These are long lockers, and can only be used for up to three hours. Items left overnight are removed. After a period of five (5) days, these items are donated to charity, and the ARC and it's officers assume no responsibility for these items, if they are not claimed within the aforementioned period of time.

Short lockers can be rented for the semester, or academic year, by going to the Membership Office. These lockers are located on level B3, to the right of the elevator.
                  

  » Member rates: $85 (Spring, Fall) $65 (Summer) or $235 (Academic year)
 

Accepted forms of payment for lockers are: Check or Money Order made payable to 'Baruch College'.


» Trainers - We do not provide personal trainers for the Fitness Center, but you are allowed to bring your personal trainer to your workouts by purchasing a guest pass at the Membership Office. Please note that while you may take your personal trainer to the Fitness Center, you may not take a trainer to the Pool.

» Supplements - We do not provide supplements.


»
Towel Service & Toiletries - We do not provide towels or toiletries (for example, shower gel, shampoo & conditioner, body lotion, etc.).
