Sophomore Melissa Pena has been named the Baruch Athlete of the Month for April/May.
Pena had a spectacular spring, that ended with the shortstop being named the CUNYAC Softball MVP. During April/May, her playing highlights included...
* She knocked in three RBI's and scored one run versus against New Jersey City University on April 3.
* Batted a perfect 4-for-4, scoring three runs versus Rutgers-Newark on April 10.
* She scored four runs and notched three RBI's, with one home run, in a 17-0 home rout on Think Pink Day over York College on April 15.
* Batted 3-4, with two RBI's and two runs scored, in a win over Polytechnic University on April 17.
* For the month of April/May, Melissa batted .336, with scored 29 runs and 20 RBI's in leading softball to their first-ever post-season berth (ECAC).
