Gregory Wyzykowski

Gregory Wyzykowski in his ninth year as Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach at Baruch College, where he has established a tradition of excellence since joining the program in 2017.

During the 2024–25 season, Wyzykowski guided the men’s team to their seventh straight CUNYAC Championship and extended their streak to 13 consecutive Finals appearances. Under his leadership, the Bearcats have reached the NCAA Tournament six times. He was also named Conference Coach of the Year for the third time in four seasons.

In the 2024 fall season, he led the women’s team to their fifth consecutive appearance in the CUNYAC Finals and was honored as Women’s Tennis Coach of the Year for the second straight season and the third time overall.

Wyzykowski has earned numerous accolades in recent years, including being voted CUNYAC Men's and Women's Tennis Coach of the Year in 2023-24 after leading both teams to conference championships and NCAA Tournament berths. The previous year, he steered the men’s team to their fifth straight title and a second-round NCAA appearance, while the women finished runner-up.

Beyond the court, Wyzykowski has served on NCAA regional ranking committees, the CUNYAC Championship Committee, and as an NCAA site representative at the 2021 NCAA Championships hosted by Johns Hopkins University. He also emphasizes community involvement, including organizing a free clinic for local youth in December 2022.

Wyzykowski brings a wealth of experience from the intercollegiate, high school, and junior levels. Before Baruch, he served as Head Women’s Tennis Coach at St. Elizabeth College (2016–17), spent nine seasons leading the Division I Seton Hall University women’s program (2007–16), and founded the women’s program at Georgian Court University (2000–06), where he was named CACC Coach of the Year in 2005–06. His collegiate résumé also includes assistant coaching at Fairleigh Dickinson (2006–07) and rebuilding the program at Brookdale Community College (1997–99).

At the high school level, he coached at South River (1989–99) and Shore Regional (2000–05), earning two Coach of the Year honors. His USTA coaching experience includes leading multiple Eastern Zonal teams, highlighted by guiding the U-14 boys to a gold medal in 2008.

A USPTA-certified instructor, Wyzykowski has also worked as head pro at Rumson Country Club, contributed to Adidas Tennis Camps and College Tennis Academy programs, and is active as an ITA and USTA certified official. He additionally officiates New Jersey high school tennis and holds certification as an I.A.A.B.O. basketball official.

Wyzykowski graduated from the New Jersey Institute of Technology with a degree in Industrial Administration. Outside of tennis, he is the owner of Custom Financial Strategies and a dedicated community leader as a member and past president of the South Amboy–Sayreville Rotary Club.
