Swimming Team Battles Queens College and Kings Point

The men's swimming team knocked off Queens College, 50-43, in  a non-conference meet on Friday night in the ARC Arena.

The men lost to King's Point, 75-20, while the women's team fell to Queens (63-32) & Kings Point (63-32) as part of the evening's dual meet.

Against Kings Point, the highlights consisted of Tony Zhang (College Point, NY/Bronx Science) winning the 200-meter Individual Medley.

Daniela Sepulveda (Middletown, NY/Goshen North) won the 1,000 & 400 Freestyle, while Christina Cruz (East Elmhurst, NY/W.C. Bryant) took the 50 & 100 Freestyle.

Against Queens College, Laura Tumulak (Staten Island, NY/Notre Dame) won the 100 Breaststroke and 200 Freestyle. Sepulveda won the 200 Individual Medley, while Cruz won the 100 Butterfly.

Cory Ng (Brooklyn, NY/Bronx Science) won the 100-meter Butterfly, Joe Orovic (Queens, NY/Archbishop Molloy) the 400 Freestyle, and senior Brian Llido (Staten Island, NY/Susan Wagner) the 50 & 100 Freestyle.

Freshman Alex Vays (Staten Island, NY/Susan Wagner) won the 100-Breaststroke.

The swim teams will next return to action on Saturday, January 7, with a conference meet at Lehman College. The first event will begin at 1:00 p.m.
