The women's tennis team dropped a 5-4 result to Rutgers-Newark in a non-conference match played on a chilly Friday afternoon at the Golden Dome Courts in Newark, New Jersey.

The Bearcats (8-5) started by winning two of the doubles, but Rutgers-Newark (9-6) rallied by winning four of the six singles to win the overall encounter.

The Bearcats will next play this upcoming Tuesday in the quarterfinal round of the 2006 CUNYAC Women's Tennis Tournament.

First serve, against an opponent to be determined at this time, will be played at 3:30 p.m. at the U.S. National Tennis Center in Queens. (Check back Monday for confirmed opponent)
