BOX SCORE

The men's soccer team fell to CCNY, 2-1 in overtime, in a conference home match played on a rainy Wednesday night at the Met Oval in Maspeth, Queens.

The loss drops the Bearcats to 5-5-1 overall and 3-1-1 in CUNYAC, while CCNY improve to 4-4 overall and 2-1 in CUNYAC.

The match began on a positive note for the Bearcats with Camilo Reyes (Bogota, Colombia/ Woodlands) scoring in the fifth minute on an assist by Daniel Wright (Brooklyn, N.Y./New Paltz).

CCNY tied the game on an own goal by the defense six minutes later for a 1-1 tie.

Baruch had the better of the scoring opportunities all evening with a 19-6 shot advantage, but could not find the go-ahead goal.

The winning goal by CCNY occured in the fifth minute of the first overtime. A defensive miscommunication enabled Ernand Pellumbi (Bronx, N.Y./J.F.K.) to intercept the ball and score the winning goal for the 2-1 victory.

Baruch will be in action this Saturday with a non-conference road match at SUNY-Maritime. Please note the revised kickoff time is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
