Junior lefthander Jason Blanks (Hoboken, NJ/Hoboken) tossed six innings of two-hit shutout ball, striking out a career-high 10, as William Paterson beat Baruch, 27-0, in non-conference baseball action on Tuesday afternoon at Pioneer Baseball Park in Wayne, New Jersey.

Junior centerfielder Rick Pignatello (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) was 3-for-4, with two runs and five RBI, while reaching base five times for the Pioneers (20-9). Seventeen different players had hits, 13 had at least one RBI and 12 scored at least one run to highlight the team’s 22-hit attack.

Senior designated hitter Alberto Nieves (Brooklyn, NY/Murry Bergtraum) led the Bearcats (9-13) with two of the team's three hits. Sophomore Montana Leonard (New York, N.Y./Brooklyn Tech) recorded the other lone hit of the game.

The Bearcats will look to put the ugly loss behind them, as they play a conference road game on Thursday afternoon against Mitchell. First pitch in New London, Connecticut is scheduled for the revised time of 3:00 p.m.
