The Bearcats lost a 28-5 result to CCNY in a single conference home game played on Thursday afternoon at the baseball field of St. John's University in Jamaica, Queens.
The regular-season conference series will continue on Saturday with a road doubleheader at the American Legion Complex in Brooklyn. First pitch is scheduled for Noon.
CCNY (7-14, 6-4 CUNYAC) led from start to finish, beginning with five runs in the top of the second inning. They scored 15 total runs in the fifth inning, and finished the game with 15 hits, 17 walks, and five hit-batters.
The highlights for the Bearcats (7-10, 3-4 CUNYAC) included Cesar Chaves (Brooklyn, N.Y./James Madison) batting 3-for-4 with a run scored, while Arby Gega (Jamaica, N.Y./Hillcrest) went 2-for-4 with a two-run single in the ninth inning. Montana Leonard (New York, N.Y./Brooklyn Tech) added a 2-for-4 performance and scored twice.
