BOX SCORE

The Bearcats and Brooklyn played to a 1-1 draw in a CUNY Athletic Conference game played on Saturday night at the Met Oval in Maspeth, Queens.

Despite a 32-9 shot advantage and control of the midfield, the Bearcats (2-2-1) could only find one goal against the Bridges of Brooklyn College (2-0-1).

Brooklyn scored the first goal just 4:55 into the game on a goal by Elis Llgami (Brooklyn, N.Y./F.D.R.). He accepted a chip pass over the defense from Yuriy Lagutin (Brooklyn, N.Y./James Madison) and beat the goalkeeper one-on-one for the opening score.

The Bearcats scored the tying goal at 57:50 of the second half on a blast by Soung Foon Choa (Tenafly, N.J./Tenafly). Caner Yilmaz (Istanbul, Turkey) set up the play by finding a hole in the defense to feed the ball to Foon, and he struck a hard shot into the back of the net for the 1-1 tie.

Both teams had several solid opportunities to win the game late in regulation and overtime, but strong defense and a few bad bounces kept the game in a draw.

Baruch will return to action on Monday with a non-conference road game in Patchogue, Long Island against St. Joseph's. Kick off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
