The women's tennis team lost the battle of first place to Hunter College by the score of 8-1 in a conference match played on Tuesday afternoon at the U.S. National Tennis Center in Queens.
Hunter (9-0, 4-0 CUNYAC) won all three doubles and five of six singles for their ninth consecutive victory.
The lone Baruch (4-3, 3-1 CUNYAC) win was in the # 2 singles, as Kateryna Pylypyshyna (Odessa, Ukraine/H.S. # 90) defeated Monica Calungcagin (Valley Cottage, N.Y./Nyack) by the scores of 6-4, 6-3.
Baruch will return to action this Friday with a home conference match against CCNY. First serve is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at the York College tennis courts.
