The men's volleyball team lost in four to New Jersey City University in a non-conference match played on Thursday night in Jersey City, New Jersey.
The Bearcats put up a solid effort, but lost two close sets by the score of 30-28. The Bearcats also won their only set by the same score.
Juniors Danial Levent (Forest Hills, N.Y./American Studies) and Stephen Hansen (Hauppage, N.Y./Hauppage) each recorded 16 kills for the visiting Bearcats. Hansen, a transfer from Southampton, also notched a team-high nine digs.
Senior Steve Rouse (New York, N.Y./A.P. Randolph) had 12 kills and two blocks, while freshman setter Radek Wyrwas (Bialystok, Poland/Grover Cleveland) dished out 45 assists and totaled eight digs.
The men's volleyball team will return to action this weekend again in New Jersey by participating in the Stevens Tech Invitational with Saturday matches in Hoboken against Nazareth (4:00 pm) and Eastern Mennonite (8:00 pm).
