Rookie striker Freddy Carasco-Dance (East Elmhurst, N.Y./William C. Bryant) scored a hat-trick but it was not enough as CCNY beat the Bearcats, 5-4, on Wednesday night at Riverbank State Park.
The Bearcats scored first two minutes into the match on Carasco-Dance’s first goal, but the home team Beavers scored twice to take a 2-1 lead after 15 minutes.
Baruch grabbed the lead back with goals by Carasco-Dance in the 20th minute and Rafal Dziekanowski (Warsaw, Poland/Forest Hills) in the 36th minute to lead at halftime, 3-2.
CCNY tied the match two minutes into the second half, but Carcaso-Dance completed his first collegiate hat-trick with his third goal in the 79th minute to give Baruch the lead again, 4-3.
CCNY finished off the conference victory with two goals the rest of the way in regulation time for their 5-4 home victory at Riverbank State Park.
Baruch will return to action next Wednesday, October 10th, with a 3:30 conference road match at York College.
