The men’s volleyball team swept Lehman and Medgar Evers on Saturday in the first CUNYAC Multi-Match Day hosted by York College.
The Bearcats improve to 5-10 overall, 3-0 in CUNYAC, and will next prepare to play # 15 ranked SUNY-New Paltz in a non-conference clash on Monday night in New Paltz, New York.
The Bearcats won the morning match against Lehman by the scores of 30-27, 31-29, and 30-20.
Greg Waldvogel (West Hempstead, N.Y./West Hempstead) led with 12 kills, Albert Ho (Hong Kong/Newtown) had 30 assists, and Chris Bustos (Davao, Phillipines/Xaverian) collected seven digs. Wayne Chow (Syossett, N.Y./Syossett) notched nine kills and four blocks.
During the afternoon match, the Bearcats swept Medgar Evers by the scores of 30-17, 30-26, and 30-16. Waldvogel led the way again with 19 kills and three solo blocks.
Radek Wyrwas (Bialystok, Poland/Grover Cleveland) had 41 assists, 10 kills, and two service aces, while Jonathan Tuwaidan (Woodside, N.Y./W.C. Bryant) dished out 20 assists.
