The men’s volleyball team kept their perfect record at home intact (8-0) this season with a sweep of Medgar Evers in a conference match up on Thursday night in the ARC Arena.
The Bearcats (13-12, 9-1 CUNYAC) were victorious with scores of 30-15, 30-23, and 30-18 to win the conference clash.
Senior Greg Waldvogel (West Hempstead, N.Y./West Hempstead) starred again with 13 kills, three service aces, and six digs.
Sophomore Stephen Hansen (Hauppauge, N.Y./Hauppauge) recorded 36 assists, eight kills and two blocks, while junior Danial Levent (Forest Hills, N.Y./American Studies) notched nine kills.
Freshman Radek Wyrwas (Bialystok, Poland/Grover Cleveland) had 12 digs and six kills.
Keegan Garcia (Trinidad & Tobago/Akian Sr. Secondary) and Rawle Grogan (Georgetown, Guyana) led the Cougars of Medgar Evers (4-8, 3-7 CUNYAC) with nine kills each.
The Bearcats will continue their grueling non-conference schedule filled with nationally-ranked opponents this weekend by playing in the Endicott March Mania Invitational hosted by Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts.
They will battle # 14th ranked Rivier College of New Hampshire (1:00 pm) and # 7 ranked Nazareth College of Rochester (3:00 pm) this Saturday in Beverly.
