The men's volleyball team defeated York (30-18, 30-11, 30-22) and Brooklyn (30-22, 26-30, 30-24, 30-25) in conference matches played on Saturday at the CUNYAC multi-match hosted by CCNY.
In the opener against York, Steve Rouse (New York, N.Y./ A.P. Randolph) had a solid game with nine kills and two service aces. Stephen Hansen (Hauppauge, N.Y./Hauppauge) notched seven kills, Wayne Chow (Syossett, N.Y./Syossett) had six skills, and Radek Wyrwas (Bialystok, Poland/Grover Cleveland) rounded out the victory with 30 assists and five service aces.
In the second match against Brooklyn, the Bearcats (17-15, 12-1 CUNYAC) received a well-balanced attack and saw various players step up in the four-set victory over the Bridges.
Wyrwas had a monster match with 63 assists, 10 digs, and two service aces.
Chris Bustos (Davao, Phillipines/Xaverian) recorded a career-high 15 kills to go along with 11 digs.
Hansen had 16 kills, Rouse 13 kills and two solo blocks, and Chow finished with 10 kills
Jonathan Tuwaidan (Woodside, N.Y./W.C. Bryant) rounded off the balanced scoring attack with 11 kills.
The Bearcats will finish their 2007 regular season schedule this Tuesday with a conference home match in the ARC Arena against Hunter College at 7:00 pm.
Prior to the match, the team will honor their seniors and free pizza is available to Baruch fans.
