Men's Tennis Start 2007 Season With Exciting Road Victory Against Rutgers-Newark (5-4)

The men's tennis team worked hard to win a 5-4 road victory against Rutgers-Newark on Saturday afternoon in Newark, New Jersey.

The Bearcats received terrific all around support from players such as Emanuel Imperial in winning his first singles, 6-2, 6-0. 

Ramon Shane-Johnson played a terrific match by overcoming an early tie to win, 6-1, 4-6, and 6-3.

Dumitru Pitu, despite being a bit under the weather, fought hard in a long marathon match against Ryan Chadha to win a valiant comeback with scores of 3-6, 6-4, and 6-3. That singles victory broke a 4-4 tie and helped the Bearcats to the 5-4 victory in Newark.

The match was the first of the season for the Bearcats, after their previous two scheduled matches were postponed by weather.

They will return to action to action with their competitive schedule this Tuesday by traveling to Long Island to battle King's Point (U.S. Merchant Marine Academy). First serve is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
