Box Score

The Bearcats lost an 11-6 road game to CCNY on Monday afternoon at American Legion Field in Brooklyn.

The young Bearcats took a 6-3 lead into the bottom of the 8th inning, but the Beavers of CCNY saved the best for last with eight runs in that inning to pull away for the comeback victory.

The Beavers started the rally by getting their first six batters on base and they all eventually came around to score.

The inning featured eight total hits, including a pair of doubles by Division I St. Francis of New York transfer Lucian Maldonado.

Prior to the rally, the Beavers were limited to only five hits and three runs scored.

Baruch enjoyed a solid third inning by scoring three runs, highlighted on an RBI double by freshman David Chestnut (Brooklyn, N.Y./Nazareth) and an RBI single by sophomore Stephen Hansen (Hauppauge, N.Y./Hauppauge).

Junior Cesar Chaves (Brooklyn, N.Y./James Madison) and Hansen finished with three singles each for Baruch.

The Bearcats will return to action this Thursday with a road contest against the College of Mount Saint Vincent. First pitch at the Fordham University baseball field is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
