The Bearcats finished their regular-season schedule with a 20-6 loss to Lehman College in a Senior Day home game played on Sunday afternoon at Roberto Clemente State Park in the Bronx.
The game began with the Bearcats scoring five runs in the bottom of the first inning. Freshmen John Reyes (Brooklyn, N.Y./.Samuel Tilden) and Patrick Westrick (Staten Island, N.Y./S.I. Technical) each recorded two-run singles, while junior Greg Polius (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Mary's) singled in one run.
Lehman scored a run in the top of the third inning, but Baruch added a run in the bottom of that inning for a 6-1 lead on another RBI single by Reyes.
Lehman chipped away with a pair of runs in the fourth and sixth innings to get as close as 6-5.
They eventually took over with 14 runs on 10 hits and two errors in the eight inning to put the game away and complete the emphatic comeback
Baruch attempted several times to build on their six early runs, but were rebuffed each time by Lehman starting pitcher Jose Garrido (Bronx, N.Y./Art & Design). He limited the Bearcats to four hits in the final six innings of the game.
The visitors were led at the plate by Amodoernesto Guzman (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Hayes) with three singles, a double, and four RBI.
Reyes led the Bearcats with three singles and three RBI, while Dennis Treulieb (East Meadow, N.Y./East Meadow) recorded a double.
