BOX SCORE
The Hawks of Hunter College defeated the men‘s soccer team, 3-2, in a conference match played on Saturday evening at the Met Oval soccer field in Queens.
The visiting Bearcats fell behind 2-0 in the opening 30 minutes with Hunter goals by Tutuboy Harris (3rd minute) and Anthony Intrabartolo (30thminute).
Baruch made an exciting comeback, thanks to the solid efforts of rookie striker Freddy Carasco-Dance (East Elmhurst, NY/William C. Bryant).
He scored his first goal off a rebound in the 39th minute and tied it three minutes into the second half on an assist by rookie defender Marcelo Martinez (Inwood, NY/Lawrence).
Hunter would score their eventual game-winning goal on a penalty kick by German Dominguez in the 51st minute.
Baruch pressured hard for the game-tying goal and was also rewarded three minutes from the final whistle. Carasco fired a free kick from 28-yards but it hit the crossbar and bounced away to keep the score at 3-2.
The men's soccer team will return to action this Monday night with a non-conference home match against the College of Mount Saint Vincent.
Kick off at the Met Oval is scheduled for 8:00 pm.
