Box Score

The women's volleyball team put up a tough fight (26-24, 25-8, 25-23), but lost to the visiting Beavers from the City College of New York on Thursday night in the ARC Arena.

Despite the loss, the Bearcats still clinch the third seed in the CUNYAC Tournament and will host a quarterfinal match against John Jay in the ARC Arena on Tuesday, November 4, at 6:00 pm.

The Beavers started each of the three sets strong to build significant early leads, but the Bearcats fought back, especially in the first set, to overturn a 16-3 deficit into a 24-24 score to the delight of the large crowd tonight in the ARC Arena. The Beavers overcame the rally to pull out the 26-24 opening set victory.

Baruch fought back from another deficit in the third set to get as close as 23-22, but the Beavers gathered the necessary points to clinch the victory in the regular season conference finale tonight for both teams.

Nicole Baruffaldi and Staren Soanes led the attack with six kills each, while Kristin Walker dished out 18 assists.

Floriana Garo led the visitors with 11 kills and 14 digs, while Alexis Kinsman dished out 36 assists for the victory.

The Baruch women's volleyball team will finish their overall regular season schedule with a road trip to Boston, Massachusetts to compete in the Brandeis University Judges Classics.

The Bearcats will start play on Friday night against Brandeis in a match scheduled for 7:00 pm.
