Volleyball Rally Falls Short in Exciting Conference Match at Hunter (23-30, 23-30, 30-28, 30-25, 9-15)

The men's volleyball team lost a tightly-contested match to Hunter College on Tuesday night in New York City.

The Bearcats (20-9, 12-2 CUNYAC) started slow by dropping the first two sets but stormed back with victories in the third and fourth to take the conference encounter into the exciting tie-breaker.

Hunter fought back, took a big lead and went on to capture the fifth set to notch the victory in front of their home crowd.

Danial Levent (Forest Hills, N.Y./American Studies) led the visiting Bearcats with 31 kills and nine digs, while Jonathan Tuwaidan (Woodside, N.Y./W.C. Bryant) had 10 kills and seven digs.

Radu Wyrwas (Bialstyok, Poland/Grover Cleveland) came up big again with 51 assists and five kills in helping lead the offensive attack.

Pablo Oliveira (Brazil/Newcomers) was pivotal in Hunter's victory with 23 kills and eight digs.

Baruch will return action this Saturday with a pair of matches against nationally-ranked opponents in Boston, Massachusetts. They will play against #11 Rivier (1:00 pm) and #13 M.I.T. (3:00 pm) in a tri-match hosted by M.I.T.
