Old Westbury State Defeats Bearcats

The baseball team suffered a 14-1 non-conference loss to Old Westbury State on Tuesday afternoon in Long Island.

Kevin Reynolds (Wantagh, N.Y./Wantagh) had the big afternoon for the Panthers by batting 4-for-5, with a triple and four runs scored to give his team their third victory of the season.

The Panthers quickly scored five in the second and two in the third inning to go on to the victory.

The visiting Bearcats scored their lone run in their first inning with John Reyes (Brooklyn, N.Y./Samuel J. Tilden) scoring from third base on a wild pitch.


Greg Polius (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Mary's) led at the plate by batting 2-for-3, with two singles.

The baseball team will return to action this Saturday with a conference road doubleheader against the City College of New York. First pitch in a doubleheader to be played at the baseball field of Farmingdale State University is scheduled for Noon.
